A tribute to winter

Yup, wintery pix that are long overdue... so I'm making this a tribute to those winter days. Most people who have lived through many winter would probably say that winter ranks fourth on their list of favourite seasons. Why??? It's bitterly cold, grey (except for those occasional sunny days in between) and lifeless. But to us, tropical-blooded first-timers living through winter, it's beauty is not lost on us... erm... maybe during the first two snow showers.

Spring is here! Well, the weather and flora has yet to catch on but I'm sure the leaves will grow and the flowers will bloom... soon :) I saw a squirrel climbing up the tree outside our window last week, heard the cheery chirp of birds this afternoon and saw an owl perched on a tree this evening. Pittsburgh is springing back to life!

Ok, photos... ...
Charis playing in the snow... when she was still excited about it. (Now, she hardly wants to walk out in the snow.)

Snowy view outside our window. We're thankful for this evergreen that added some life to our everyday view. We get the far view during winter because all the trees are bare... otherwise, it's a "forest-y mass".

Snowy landscape around our neighbourhood. I love the contrasting white against the red bricks.

Looking out of our windows...

"The funny moon" as Charis calls it because it appears during daylight :) Sometimes, it seems that the moon here is much bigger and nearer to us!

Catching the American eagle in action :)

Winter @ CMU

Once in a while during the cold winter, there are some nice scenes that distract you from the cold. But such scenes don't come very often though...
