chicagoans

I like them! Big-city dwellers with a touch of small-town friendliness and helpfulness... at least in my encounters with them :)

found: giant jelly bean

Cloud Gate aka "the bean" by Anish Kapoor

An interesting structure in Millennium Park that reflects the skyline of Chicago downtown.
We had fun chasing our reflections around and under the giant jelly bean. :)

Idlewild and Soak Zone

I think this is one of the oldest theme parks in the United States... just an hour away. Had a full day of fun, fUn, FuN! Thank God for the lovely weather. Charis had an overdose of kiddy rides with her little friend, Ethan!

(can you spot them?)

Idlewild and Soak Zone (pony ride)

Finally brave enough to go on the real thing :)

Idlewild and Soak Zone (more!)

"Here is the land of once upon a time.
Step through the pages of this book
and visit the people and places
every child knows and loves.
Here dreams are real and
so are your Storybook friends."

Transported into the Storybook Forest, walked into the places and met the people from the familiar nursery rhymes and stories.

saw the crooked house...

took a photo with Goldilocks...

said hi to brother pig outside his house of bricks...

met Snow White while the seven dwarfs were at work...

Also found some time for the old folks to go on some fun rides ;p

Guess we'll have to go again when Josiah can join us on the rides...

Sunset...
